Laser Hair Removal - Aesthera PPx Is Fast and Painless
Irene Komsky, RN William Phillips, MD Walnut Creek, CA
Aesthera PPx: Quick, painless, and it really does work...
PPx stands for Photopneumatic Therapy and is FDA approved for painless hair removal. It works in similar ways as other laser hair removal treatments but is more effective and less painful. First, a treatment tip is placed gently over the area in question. Next, the skin is slowly pulled up into the tip which allows unwanted hair to be raised closer to the skin's surface. Light energy is applied to the skin and the hair is removed, quickly and easily.
How many treatments do I need for effective results?
Most people can expect to need 3 to 7 treatments in order to achieve the best long term results. However, as each person's hair reacts slightly different, your own needs will be determined as you are being treated. In addition, the areas to be treated will influence how many treatments are recommended. Fortunately, Aesthera PPx can be used effectively on all hair and skin types so you are free to test this procedure on yourself and almost no risk. A detailed discussion with your physician prior to the procedure will ensure that you get the best results imaginable in the shortest time possible.
What can I expect during my treatment sessions?
One of the greatest aspects of the Aesthera PPx treatment is that it requires no down time and no anesthetics prior to the procedure. After your session you can comfortably return to your daily routine without risk of side effects or irritants. During the treatment itself, expect to feel almost pampered. Patients have said that the treatment tip feels akin to a warm massage. Not bad for a laser hair removal procedure! Instead of experiencing pain and discomfort you can close your eyes and pretend you're in a swanky massage parlor getting your relaxation fix.
How long will the effects last?
Once you have completed your first series of treatments, you'll only need to return about once a year to touch up any problem areas. But again, the frequency and need of the touch up treatments will depend upon each individual and the body part in question. Even better evidence are the patients themselves. From a recent clinical study conducted of Aesthera PPx patients, 100% said they would choose PPx over previously experience methods of laser hair removal.
Why choose Aesthera PPx over other treatments?
When it comes down to a choice, you probably will have good results will the main laser hair removal procedures that are available today. However, if you use Aesthera PPx you will be less likely to have negative side effects such as redness, swelling, blisters, and other annoying skin problems. Furthermore, you'll see results quickly. The upper lip, for example, can be treated in just 1 minute, while sections of the arm can be smooth and beautiful in just a few minutes more.
